Recognizing the importance of electronic payment security, Alpha Bank is a licensed Payment Institution by the Bank of Greece and securely manages card payment transaction data, in accordance with the regulatory framework of the card security management standard.

All card payments are processed through Alpha Bank’s “Alpha e-Commerce” electronic payment platform and by using TLS 1.2 encryption with 128-bit encryption protocol (Secure Sockets Layer – SSL). Encryption is a way of codification of information until it reaches its intended recipient, who will be able to decrypt it using the appropriate key. Alpha Bank is certified according to the PCI DSS standard.

Alpha Bank also supports the ability of the use of the 3D Secure service, an additional security port for VISA, MasterCard & American Express cards. The buyer will have to enter his secret personal code in order to successfully complete the transaction.
